Origami King Diamond Island: A Perfect Fit

As I sit here playing Origami King Diamond Island on my Nintendo Switch, I can't help but feel grateful that my partner is currently absorbed in FromSoft's Souls-likes on TV. The game's unique and engaging gameplay loop has me hooked for hours, and I'm not about to let anything get in the way of exploring this fantastical world.

In fact, I've found myself neglecting other games in my backlog, including Batman: Arkham Knight, which is finally available on Switch as part of the 3-in-1 Batman Arkham Trilogy bundle. While it's a shame that Origins is no longer included, I still have fond memories of playing Asylum and City on PS3 and Wii U respectively.

Of course, with Game of the Year (GOTY) fast approaching, I'm also eager to dive back into some other titles. I've been meaning to finish Mario Wonder, and spend some more time exploring Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Not to mention playing through Metroid Prime Remastered, delving back into Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, and tackling some DLC for Dead Cells.

But for now, Origami King Diamond Island is where my heart (and attention span) lies. There's something about its primitive yet addictive gameplay that has me coming back again and again. And with the Switch's portability, I can play it anywhere, anytime - even on a quick break from gaming. So if you'll excuse me, I'm off to tear up the streets of Gotham in the Batmobile!
